Registration Requirements For Individual Security Officers

1. Start Registration Online
   
   → Go to Website
   → Click on “Security Officer.”
   → Click on “no, register now.”
   → Read the requirements and check if you are eligible
   → Click “yes, I meet the requirements.”
   → Fill the form, e.g., your name, phone number, date of birth, email, etc.
   → Click submit
   
2. Complete Accredited Training:
   
   → Enroll in Psira Accredited Training Centre
   → Get the required training according to the grade you want to obtain (Grade A, B, C, D, or E).
   → Get your Certificate
   
3. Documents Required:
   
   → South African ID card copy
   → Passport-size photo
   → Residential Address Proof
   → Registration Fee (approx. R210)
   → Fingerprint form (from PSIRA office)
   
4. Visit Psira Reigional Office
   
   → Go to the nearest office (no early appointment needed).
   → Submit all the documents
   → Complete your fingerprint verification (biometric)
   
5. Wait for Approval:
   
   → Usually it takes 6-8 weeks to get approved by Psira
   → After approval, you will receive your Psira no and certificate
   

Registration Process for Security Businesses

1. Start Registration Online
   → Go to Website
   → Click on “Security Business.”
   → Click on “no, register now.”
   → Read the requirements and check if you are eligible
   → Click “yes, I meet the requirements.”
   → Fill the form, e.g., your company name, owner name, phone number, date of birth, email, etc.
   → Click submit
   
2. Meet Initial Requirements
   → Company must be registered with CIPC
   → Business owner must be registered with Psira
   → Business need to provide proof of service capabilities, staff, and infrastructure
   
3. Documents Needed
   → Business registration documents (CIPC)
   → Proof of office location
   → ID card copies of directors
   → Proof of tax compliance
   → Business plan
   → Fingerprints of directors
   → Application Fee (approx. 2,280)
   
4. Visit Psira Regional Office
   → Submit above documents
   → Complete fingerprint verification of directors (biometric)
   
5. Wait for Approval
   → Psira may visit or inspect the business location.
   → If no issue found, you will get your Psira company number and certificate within 6-8 weeks
   

Note: The Registration process is not fully online. First-time users must visit Psira office to register themselves. Also, the registration fee may change from time to time. to get latest fee update, call the helpline at 086 133 3850

Claiming Your Profile (First-Time Users)

If you are using the PSiRA portal for the first time, you need to claim your profile after registration, and then you can log in to access online services like checking registration status, downloading certificates, and renewing registration.

How to claim your PSiRA profile

For Individual Security Officer

• Go to the Website
• Click on “choose profile”
• The two options will appear: “Security Officer” or “Security Business.”
• Select Security Officer
• Now you can see an option “Claim by ID number.”
• Write your ID no
• Click validate
• Now Create a secure password and write security questions and answers
• Click submit
• Your profile is officially registered
  

For Security Business

• Go to the Website
• Click on “choose profile”
• The two options will appear: “Security Officer” or “Security Business.”
• Select Security Business
• Now you can see an option “Claim by cell number.”
• Write your mobile number
• Also write PSiRA number in next section
• Now click on “send otp”
• Once you receive otp, paste it in the otp section.
• Create a secure password and write security questions and answers
• Click submit
• Your profile is officially registered
  

How to Check PSiRA Grades Online?

Below are several ways to check your grades online:

Option 1:

• Visit the official verification portal.
• Enter your details. e.g., app no, psira no, ID no.
• Click Search
• Your Psira status and grade will appear on the screen.

Option 2: Check from your Psira profile dashboard

• Log in at the website.
• Go to “view profile” from the dashboard.
• Your grades level and training history will appear on screen
• You can also download your certificate, which includes psira grades
  

Option 3: Check Grades from Psira Mobile App

• Download the Psira app
• Login through “username or password” or through “phone number.”
• if you choose “phone no,” you will receive an sms of “otp”
• Enter otp and log in to your profile
• In profile section, you will be able to “view your grades.”
  

Option 4: Call Psira Helpline

• Enter psira helpline number from your phone: 086 133 3850
• Provide your Id number or psira no
• Agents will confirm your status and grades

• Grade A: For Managers
• Grade B: For Supervisors
• Grade C: For Access Control Officers
• Grade D: For Patrol Officers
• Grade E: For Watchman
