How to Renew a PSiRA Certificate?
Security businesses need to renew their certificates every 12 months. While individuals (security officers) are required to renew their certificates every 24 months.
Always check your Psira grades status online to verify your certificate expiry date.
Online Renewal (Recommended):
PSiRA now offers fully online services, which are extremely useful. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you renew your certificate from home:
- Log in to PSiRA portal
- Select “service request” and navigate to “renew certificate” tab
- Fill the renewal form and upload required documents
- Select “renewal fee” and pay the fee
- Fee for working officers ranges from R64-R70, non-working officers pay R115, and security businesses need to pay around R1000 (depending upon the firm size)
- Read the terms and conditions and click agree.
- Enter your card details and pay online
- Submit and download your new certificate immediately
In-Person Renewal:
- Log in to your PSiRA Account
- Download and Complete PSiRA renewal form
- Prepare supporting documents. e.g., copy of ID card, proof of annual fee payment, 2 passport photo
- Visit the nearest branch, submit the documents, and pay the fee
- It will take 12 business days, and your certificate will be renewed.
